The Alice Munro Writers and Readers Festival is a festival in Huron County that is devoted to providing a forum for writers to develop their craft and connect with like-minded literati. Each year in September, they celebrate literacy through a variety of events. Visitors to the festival can hear featured guest speakers read from their own works or discover “Munro Country” through a guided walking tour. Emerging and experienced writers can attend workshops and/or enter the Alice Munro Writers and Readers Festival’s annual Short Story Competition. A gala dinner and awards presentation are also organized as part of the festival.
