The Politics of Knives, by Jonathan Ball

This month, poet and Urge critic Stewart Cole reviews Jonathan Ball's new collection, The Politics of Knives (Coach House Books). Stewart takes on Jonathan's self-stated desire “to strip out emotion” from his poetry and argues against the frequently imposed binary of the “avant-garde” and the "lyric 'losers.'” Read the review here.

Stewart's first collection of poetry, Questions in Bed, has just been published with Goose Lane Editions. Read our Poets in Profile interview with him here.
