Book Summit is a conference that brings together creative minds from all aspects of writing and publishing. With a 2015 theme of The Story at the Centre, Book Summit is hosting conversations about innovative possibilities around books for those who create, sell and market them. From partnering with game companies, filmmakers, musicians and app designers to reaching readers in new and direct ways, the Book Summit line up features speakers who are focused more on story and experience and less on format.

One of the most exciting highlights of that line up is keynote speaker Sue Gardner, former CEO of the Wikimedia Foundation and the lone Canadian featured on Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list. Gardner will be amongst the speakers addressing how changing technologies are creating new opportunities and new challenges for writers and publishers, and how to best take advantage of all available possibilities.

Other speakers include HarperCollins Canada's VP, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Iris Tupholme, Wattpad's Head of Content, Publishing, Ashleigh Gardner and video game developer Athomas Goldberg, amongst many more.

Attendees at Book Summit include writers, publishers, librarians, agents, editors, publicists and interested readers. Given the unique pressures, trends and changes facing a small but beloved industry, there should be plenty to talk about.

If you're interested in attending Book Summit, you can register online. The summit takes place on June 25, 2015, beginning at 8:15 a.m. at the Harbourfront Centre Theatre in Toronto (231 Queens Quay West).

Fees are $166.25 for individual attendees, $148.50 per person for groups of five or more (registering together from a single organisation) or $92.75 for students and seniors. All attendance costs include lunch and refreshments during breaks.

Book Summit 2015 is presented by the Book and Periodical Council and Humber College, in association with IFOA.
