The Aspiring Canadian Writers Contests (ACWC) is once again accepting submissions for their annual poetry competition. Launched in April 2012, the ACWC recognizes and develops unpublished Canadian writers by providing mentoring opportunities with acclaimed, published authors. The 2015 Contest judge and mentor is Stuart Ross, and submissions will be accepted until June 1, 2015. For more information, please visit the Aspiring Canadian Poets Contest wesbite.

New this year, the ACWC has created an opportunity for aspiring screenwriters called The 2015 Screenwriter Mentor Experience.

The top three contest winners of The 2015 Screenwriter Mentor Experience will each receive online script editing sessions with Contest judge and mentor, Geneviève Appleton, as well as Stephanie Palmer's e-course, How To Be A Professional Writer. The contest's first place prize winner will also receive an online industry mentoring session with Navin Ramaswaran, a complimentary ticket to the 2016 Toronto Screenwriting Conference (accommodation and travel not included) and an interview with ACWC.

Entries of short film screenplays are now being accepted until June 30, 2015 or when 100 entries are received, whichever comes first. For more information, please visit the Screenwriter Mentor Experience website.
