Don't miss your chance to enter one of Canada's most prestigious literary competitions! You have two days to hone your prose — CBC's Canada Writes short story competition closes on November 1, 2012.

From our friends at the CBC:

Prizes go to the best original, unpublished work of short fiction received. All entries must be between 1,200 and 1,500 words. Judging is blind and there is a $25.00 entry fee per submission.

First Prize is $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, a two-week writing residency at The Banff Centre and publication in enRoute magazine.

Past winners of the prize include Michael Ondaatje, Gwendolyn MacEwen, Camilla Gibb and Michael Winter.

For more information and for complete competition rules, check out the CBC Canada Writes website.
