CWILA (Canadian Women in the Literary Arts) is a literary organization that was founded this spring to address the limited representation of women's writing in reviews published by national newspapers, magazines and journals. Now, in an effort to promote equality of representation and to stimulate public awareness and discussion about the literary and critical contributions of Canadian women, CWILA has raised funds to support a Critic in Residence for one year, for a stipend of $2,000. The Critic in Residence's primary focus will be to write critical essays and book reviews to be submitted for publication in Canadian review venues.
Applications should be sent to info@cwila.com by November 1st. For full details, visit the CWILA website.
