Are you scratching your head figuring out what to get the book lover in your life for a holiday gift?

Writer and editor Michael Hingston and designer Natalie Olsen have got you covered with the newly created Short Story Advent Calendar. The first of its kind, the calendar is a collection of 24 stories to be opened one by one on the mornings leading up to Christmas 2015.

There are two dozen stories, which total more than 500 pages of fiction, from some of North America's best loved storytellers. The stories are a mixture of new and older work, with most having never appeared in book form.

The calendar has a strong Canadian contingent, including Pasha Malla, Jess Walter, Heather O'Neill, Richard Van Camp and Zsuzsi Gartner. Each story comes in a sealed chapbook for a maximized surprise factor, and the collection is a packaged in a display-worthy full colour slipcase and lid.

The calendar has a one-time, limited-edition print run, and orders will be accepted until November 13, 2015, so be sure to hurry if you want to snag one! Visit the Short Story Advent Calendar website to order.
