There is one month left to enter Briarpatch Magazine’s Writing in the Margins contest which seeks fresh, creative writing that brings to life issues of political, social, and environmental justice.

Writers with something new, bold, creative and courageous to share have one month to submit their work to be considered by Carmen Aguirre and Zoe Whittall. Writing in the Margins is accepting submissions in one of two categories: short story or creative non-fiction. The deadline for entry is December 1, 2012. Submissions should not exceed 2500 words.

Contest winners in each category will be published in the May/June 2013 issue of Briarpatch and will each receive $300. Honourable mentions will be featured online alongside contest winners at briarpatchmagazine.com and will each receive $75.

Full contest details can be found at briarpatchmagazine.com.

Also check out an interview with both Carmen Aguirre and Zoe Whittall here. Might give you some creative insight!
