The Al Purdy A-Frame Association is hosting a fundraiser in Ameliasburgh on August, 30 to help cover costs associated with maintaing the former cottage of legendary Canadian poet Al Purdy, as well as help to fund the continued operation of the Writer-in-Residence program. On July 1, 2014 poet Katherine Leyton became the A-Frame's first Writer-in-Residence, with six more writers scheduled to take up residence at the cottage through 2015.

The fundraiser will take place at the Active Arts Studio and will feature a performance of Dave Carley's "Al Purdy at the Quinte Hotel" as performed by Richard Turtle, Katherine Leyton's video presentation of her summer work entitled "How Pedestrian" and an original jazz suite performed by the Gerry Shatford Trio. Guests will enjoy snacks from Prince Edward County food truck Picnic and enjoy a complimentary bottle of Barley Days Brewery's "Sensitive Man Ale."

Tickets are available online for purchase in advance.
