TD Canadian Children’s Book Week, the largest celebration of Canadian books for young people in Canada, will take place during May 4-May 11, 2013. This is a program organized by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre and this year, they will be celebrating the theme All the Bookshelf’s a Stage: Celebrating the Performing Arts.

For more than 35 years, TD Canadian Children’s Book Week has been highlighting the joy and importance of reading by introducing Canadian children to writers and illustrators. During Book Week, 35 authors, illustrators and storytellers will visit schools, libraries, bookstores and community centres across Canada, speaking about the joy of reading, writing and illustrating books for children and teens. They will read excerpts from their books and meet with families and children. It’s expected that over 25,000 children will participate in events across the country.
