The League of Canadian Poets is pleased to announce this year's National Poetry Month in April featuring renowned poets who will present a series of readings in local libraries across Canada. Throughout April, the League will also offer a unique opportunity for students to meet, listen and converse with young poets through renowned poets who will visit Ontario classrooms. For the fourth year running, young poets will have the opportunity to post poetry videos on our forums alongside professional poets, filming in Canada and around the world.
This year, throughout National Poetry Month we will celebrate poets, libraries and the Public Lending Right Commission. Together, they will work to cultivate Canadian poetry in our communities, nurturing creators and free access to their work. As such, the theme for the 2011 LCP National Poetry Month blog is: Nurture / Nourrire.
