Sandra Ridley is the author of three books of poetry: Fallout (Hagios Press), Post-Apothecary (Pedlar Press), and most recently, The Counting House (BookThug) which was chosen as one of the top five poetry books of the 2013 in Quill & Quire's 2013 Readers' Poll.

Moure reads from her latest work, Insecession, an autobiography and poetics that echoes Chus Pato’s Secession. And, Moure reads from her translation of Pato's Secession.

Galician poet Chus Pato’s (Ourense, 1955—) sixth book, m-Talá, broke the poetic mould in Galicia in 2000. Hordes of Writing, the third text in her penology Decrúa or Tillage, received the 2008 Spanish Critics’ Prize for Galician Poetry, and the Losada Diéguez Prize in 2009. She recently received the 2013 Author of the Year award from the Galician Booksellers' Association. Pato continues to refashion the way we think of the poetic text, of words, bodies, political and literary space, and of the construction of ourselves as individual, community, nation, world. She brings us face to face with the traumas and migrations of Europe, with writing itself, and the possibility (or not) of poetry accounting for our animal selves: our selves who will die. Her works have made her one of the most revered and iconoclastic figures in Galician and European literature. Secession is her ninth book and her fourth to be translated into English.

Montreal poet Erín Moure (Calgary, 1955—) has published 17 books of poetry in English and Galician/English, and 12 volumes of poetry translated into English from French, Spanish, Galician and Portuguese, by poets such as Nicole Brossard, Andrés Ajens, Louise Dupré, Rosalía de Castro, Chus Pato and Fernando Pessoa. Her work has received the Governor General's Award, Pat Lowther Memorial Award, A.M. Klein Prize, and has been a three-time finalist for the Griffin Prize. Her latest work is Insecession, an autobiography and poetics that echoes Chus Pato’s Secession. She is currently translating Chus Pato’s Carne de Leviatán into English as Flesh of Leviathan, to appear in 2016. At that point, all five books in Pato's acclaimed penology Decrúa (Tilling or Tillage) will exist in English translation. Apart from that, Moure's French/English Kapusta, a sequel in dramatic form to The Unmemntioable, will appear from Anansi in 2015. She is currently working on new poems called The Elements and on translations of Brazilian Wilson Bueno’s Mar Paraguayo, and Quebecker François Turcot's My Dinosaur (forthcoming BookThug in 2016).
