It gives us great joy to celebrate the official release of Sleeping Funny, the debut short story collection by Journey Prize winning author Miranda Hill.

Miranda is the 2011 winner of the prestigious Journey Prize and has been published in the New Quarterly, The Dalhousie Review and The Fiddlehead. She has a BA in drama from Queen’s University and a MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia as well as working in television and as a freelance writer and communications consultant. Miranda is the founder and executive director of Project Bookmark Canada. She lives in Hamilton with her husband, author Lawrence Hill, and their family. This is Miranda’s first book of fiction.

Sleeping Funny is a collection of unforgettable short stories that allows us to enter an astonishing world that is both recognizable and yet slightly askew; the world we occasionally glimpse on the cusp of waking from a daydream or "funny" sleep. Miranda’s elegant and fresh prose style combines tenderness with a bite that will keep you enthralled from beginning to end of this remarkable debut.
