Kate Story is a writer and performer. Her first novel Blasted (Killick Press) received the Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic's honourable mention, and was longlisted for the ReLit Awards. Wrecked Upon This Shore, her second novel, has been called "magical and moving" (Jessica Grant, author of Come, Thou Tortoise); her short story "The Yoke of Inauspicious Stars" in the recently-released SF collection Carbide Tipped Pens (Tor Books, edited by Ben Bova and Eric Choi) was tipped by the Kirkus Review as a "hit." Upcoming find her entry "Unicorn" in Stone Skin Press's 21st century bestiary, Gods, Memes and Monsters.

Melissa Yuan-Innes writes fantasy and science fiction to escape from her job as an emergency doctor. She won a Writers of the Future contest in medical school. Her publications include Nature, Tesseracts 7 & 16 and the Aurora-winning anthology The Dragon and the Stars. Since no one can pronounce her name, she also writes "impressive" and "moving" mysteries under the pseudonym Melissa Yi. She met her husband at Gloucester High School. In her spare time, Melissa chases after two small children and one large Rottweiler.
