Dear Ms Campion: I very much enjoyed your lyrical piece on "Field of Dreams" in last weeks G&M. As a retired University Professor (U of Regina) who worked on grasshoppers (as a field collector and lab geneticist)I found that your article rekindled similar experiences with these curious organisms. The reason I'm writing is to inquire about the lovely artwork (children riding "horseback" on grasshoppers. (By the way the Ukrainian word for grasshopper translates as "little horses"). Is this a reproduction of a print? Can one get it anywhere? In case you're interested, the large, difficult-to-catch, grey grasshopper you refer to is probably The Carolina Grasshopper or Dissosteira carolina.
