Collected Works Bookstore welcomes action-thriller writers David Annandale and Michael Van Rooy.

ABOUT:

David Annandale was born in Winnipeg, grew up there, and keeps returning to it. At the age of 16 months, he contracted laryngitis from tear gas in the May '68 Paris riots, giving him early insight into the socio-political upheavals of our world. He still loves Paris and has lived there, as well as in Charlottetown and Edmonton, where he did his PhD on horror fiction and film.

Michael Van Rooy writes for documentaries, magazines, newspapers, and the Internet, and in 2009 won the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer. His first book, An Ordinary Decent Criminal, won the 2006 Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book by a Manitoba Writer, was a finalist for the Margaret Laurance Award for Fiction and has been recently optioned by Big Mind Films to make a full-length feature film.
