If you resolved to read more this year, start this month — and meet the author, too!

Engaging Ideas presents Josie Penny, author of So Few on Earth: A Labrador Métis Woman Remembers.

THE BOOK:

A haunting recounting of a lost childhood set in Labrador during the '40s and '50s. Sent to boarding school at age seven, Josie Penny suffered years of humiliation and punishment, losing the bonds of family and ties to her Métis culture. This is a story of perseverance and the possibility of life starting anew from shattered beginnings.

Tickets available in advance at A Different Drummer Books or 3rd floor Central Library; limited tickets at the door. Event takes place from 7-9pm.
