Please join Freehand Books and Novel Idea for an evening of readings and conversation with two great non-fiction writers; You Think You Know Me, But You Have No Idea: a conversation with Sarah Leavitt and Susan Olding.

Sarah and Susan will read from their respective works and chat candidly about the figure of the nonfiction writer.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

Sarah Leavitt’s graphic novel Tangles: A Story About Alzheimer’s, My Mother and Me became the first graphic narrative to be a finalist for the Writers’ Trust of Canada Non-fiction Prize; it was also named a Top 100 Book of 2010 by The Globe and Mail, a Top 10 Book of 2010 by Maisonneuve magazine, and was shortlisted for the Hubert Evans Award for Non-fiction at the BC Book Prizes

Susan Olding’s collection of essays, Pathologies, was published in 2008 and was longlisted for the BC National Award for Non-fiction as well as the Charles Taylor Prize. Susan was named one of The New Quarterly’s “Most Loved Living Canadian Writers” alongside authors including Yann Martel and Alice Munro.
