Ivy Handmade Industries is very excited to be hosting local children's book author JoAnn Loeffen-Thompson. JoAnn will be on hand from August 21st to 28th to sign and sell copies of her books Grasshopper On My Shoulder and Are We There Yet? It's a great chance to get the kids out of the house and back into reading before school is back in session. Please note: the exact times are to be confirmed. JoAnn Loeffen-Thompson was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, and although widely traveled, has always been drawn back to her hometown. She is a Support Worker in a group home and an Educational Assistant in primary grade schools. JoAnn has three children, now adults, who were often entertained by her impromptu stories. Only a few of JoAnn’s stories have been put to paper, but with the arrival of a new grandchild, and a story that was a finalist in a Writing For Children Competition, the time was right to produce the new children’s storybook, Grasshopper On My Shoulder. JoAnn has subsequently published a newer children’s book Are We There Yet?
