Words to move you! Kingston WritersFest 2011, the city's readers and writers festival, returns September 22 to 25. The Festival opens with the International Marquee featuring Nobel Prize–winner J. M. Coetzee, widely considered the greatest living novelist writing in the English language. Some 60 authors will take the stage in 35 events at the Grand Theatre and Holiday Inn Kingston-Waterfront, including Elizabeth Hay, Andrew Pyper, Helen Humphreys, Lorna Crozier, and Noah Richler.

The Writers Studio is back with 11 master classes for emerging and established writers in a wide range of genres from poetry to kidlit, novels to memoirs, songwriting to playwriting. In addition, events will be hosted at St. Lawrence College and Queen’s University (Hot Art with Joshua Knelman). The ever-popular Kingston Reads: Battle of the Books once again features ten local luminaries defending their favourite books. And new this year, we continue through Sunday with family programming and an Afternoon Authors Tea. Get close to the writers you love to read!
