Tilda Shalof mines her career as a critical care nurse to produce books that offer a rare insider’s glimpse of a nurse’s life, including A Nurse’s Story, The Making of a Nurse, Camp Nurse, Lives in the Balance and Opening My Heart, about her own experience as a heart-surgery patient. A lifelong care-giver, she brings stories from both sides of the medical trenches, told with stark honesty and humour, and offering a deeply personal perspective on the person who comes when we call, “Nurse!”
