Readings & Conversation

Young Adult fiction is the hottest genre in the bookstore, with as many grown-ups cruising the aisles as kids. It used to be that certain subjects were verboten: sex, death, and politics, to name a few. Three authors with YA novels – Alma Fullerton (Burn), Leanne Lieberman (Lauren Yanofsky Hates the Holocaust) and Shyam Selvadurai (Swimming in the Monsoon Sea) – discuss writing for young adults in the 21st century. Are there no taboos? What makes YA different, then, from adult literature? Moderated by Tim Wynne-Jones.

General admission: $13.50/$17.00 onsite
High-school students: $5.00/$8.00 onsite
