Veteran American war correspondent Scott Anderson explores one of the most intriguing conflicts in 20th-century history and demonstrates how, in the Middle East, the folly of the past has created the anguish of the present. “Lawrence of Arabia is said to have reinvented warfare and Scott Anderson has now reinvented Lawrence.” So says Sebastian Junger, praising Scott’s biography of TE Lawrence, the enigmatic English colonel who, in 1919, lead an Arab army in revolt against the Turks and his own government.
