Ecological writer JB MacKinnon, author of The 100-Mile Diet, invites us to re-imagine a wilder world and remake ourselves in the process. The Once and Future World: Nature As It Was, As It Is, As It Could Be takes us from the exuberant abundance of the past, through the “great forgetting” to today’s environmental crisis and shows us a way forward. Taking our ‘10-percent world’ – a planet with just one-tenth its former abundance of flora, fauna, and wildlife – JB urges us to remember, reconnect, and re-wild our globe.
