What poetry can do is make connections, make associative leaps, says poet Ken Babstock, author of the 2012 Griffin winner Methodist Hatchet. Ken is joined by Griffin-winner Don McKay, a poet devoted to reuniting the arts and sciences and author of Paradoxides, a book about fossils, deep time, and the landscape of Newfoundland. Phil Hall’s collection of essay-poems Killdeer, winner of the 2011 Governor General’s Award, the 2012 Trillium Poetry Award and shortlisted for the Griffin Prize, is a testament to the creative life as an act of faith and transformation. Stephanie Bolster’s A Page From the Wonders of Life on Earth, is a collection of elegiac travel-poems that offer a coherent vision of nature informed by a grand tour of famous zoos and gardens. Join these four celebrated poets for readings and conversation on the connections that inform and inspire their work. Moderated by Susan McMaster.

General admission: $12.50/$16.00 onsite
