Three of Canada’s sharpest cultural critics take a hard look at how far we’ve come and how far we’ve yet to go. Jamie Swift questions whether we still see ourselves as the world’s peacekeepers in Warrior Nation: Rebranding Canada in an Age of Anxiety. In Unruly Voices: Essays on Democracy, Civility and the Human Imagination, Mark Kingwell argues for a sympathetic democracy to counter the strangeness of the modern world. In Writing the Revolution, Michele Landsberg traces the gains women have made over three decades, exploring how close to equal this half of the population really is. Moderated by Carol Off. Sponsored by The Walrus.

General admission: $12.50/$16.00 onsite
