Jeannette Walls, one of the bestselling memoirists of our time, makes her Kingston WritersFest debut with a talk devoted to the internationally acclaimed The Glass Castle and her new novel, The Silver Star. Walls’s unorthodox, hardscrabble childhood inspired an extraordinary and transformative autobiography; her latest book follows a fictional dysfunctional family nearly undone by mental illness and racial politics. The Glass Castle is this year’s Queen’s Reads choice for first-year students; readers of all ages will find courage, humour, and wonder in Walls’ riveting stories.

Sponsored by the George Taylor Richardson Fund.

General admission: $13.50/$17.00 onsite
