Writing memoir is like making lasagna. Everybody has a different way of doing it, but if the recipe contains a few essential ingredients, it usually turns out pretty well. This workshop covers the fundamentals of personal narrative. Charlotte Gill begins with the question: what is memoir? She follows with the basic, essential ingredients for telling true stories in the first person. Then she dips into the creative writer’s toolbox to look at useful story elements such as point of view, character, and setting the scene. Lastly, she touches on how to design your narrative and how to incorporate research. Come prepared with your questions!

General Admission: $25.00/$30.00 onsite
