• $85 ($75 for WCDR Members)

This workshop will explore: defining metaphor, metaphor and creativity, metaphor and story, and metaphor and life. Playwrights, novelists, screenwriters, poets, and short fiction writers will benefit most. Beginners and advanced writers are welcome. We will examine, analyze, reflect, play, and write and write and write.

Experiment with metaphors as you use them as a lens for developing setting, character, and conflict. Play with metaphor and story. Add metaphor to works in progress or begin a new project inspired by a fresh metaphor.

Instructor, Jessica Outram is currently working on her Master’s research, focusing on metaphor and inquiry at OISE, University of Toronto, Adult Education and Community Development.
