The Ottawa Writers Festival presents the event New Perspectives on
the Middle East with Sayed Kashua, an Arab citizen of Israel and the creator and writer of the hit television comedy Arab Labor. Sayed is the award-winning author of Dancing Arabs, Let It Be Morning and Second Person Singular. This event includes a special screening of Arab Labor's first show from the second season.

Author Ahdaf Soueif will also presenting. Ahdaf is the author of the bestselling The Map of Love. It was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1999. She is also a political and cultural commentator who writes for the Guardian in the UK and al-Shorouk in Egypt. She is also the founder of the Palestine Festival of Literature, PalFest.

Admission prices are as follows:
General: $15
Students/Seniors: $10
Members: Free
