University of Toronto Press and the Canadian Museum of Nature have joined forces to produce something wholly unique: a definitive work of scholarship that takes readers on an adventure through the wonders of our nation’s animal realm. To celebrate the arrival of The Natural History of Canadian Mammals by renowned biologist Donna Naughton, nature lovers are invited to a festive reception at the Museum.

Naughton will briefly share some of the remarkable discoveries she made during her decade-long investigation into all 215 known species of mammals in Canada. Her talk will be punctuated by a multimedia display, featuring some of the award-winning photographs from Canadian Geographic that appear in the book. The evening will be a lively tribute to an extraordinary creative and scientific achievement.

The event is free.
