Hear these world-renowned, world-travelled writers read from a broad range of their work, then talk about the past, present, and future of writing, life, and art with the brilliant Caribbean-Canadian poet, novelist, essayist, teacher and documentary film maker, Dionne Brand.

Michael Ondaatje published his first poems in 1962, the year he arrived in Canada from Sri Lanka via England. Fifty years later, he has published 13 volumes of poetry and 6 novels as well as a memoir, anthologies and nonfiction on film. He is still writing, experimenting, fusing fact and fiction, reality and imagination into some of the most powerful books published in the world today.

Born in the United States and raised in Nigeria, Teju Cole last year released his debut novel Open City to a perfect storm of praise that compared him to Coetzee, Woolf and Camus. A street photographer and art historian, he is above all a literary innovator, publishing 26-word stories on Twitter while keeping up a running commentary on the relationship between photography and poetry.
