Richard Greene is a poet, biographer, and critic. He was born in Newfoundland and now lives in Cobourg, Ontario. His third collection of poetry, Boxing the Compass (Signal Editions), won the 2010 Governor General’s Literary Award with the citation: “Boxing the Compass leaves us feeling unmoored, adrift across time and voice. The matchless long poem at its heart pulls us back to our always-moving selves...” Educated at Memorial University and Oxford, Greene is now a professor of English at the University of Toronto, where he teaches creative writing and twentieth century literature. He has eight books to his credit, of which the most recent is a major biography of the British poet, Edith Sitwell (Little, Brown, 2011).

Carey Toane is a journalist, poet and librarian-in-training. Her poems and translations have appeared in Canadian journals and anthologies since 2007. She is the co-founder of the mechanical journal Toronto Poetry Vendors, and the original host of Toronto reading series Pivot at the Press Club. Originally from Alberta, she has also lived in Finland, the Middle East and New York City. She is currently taking a master's degree in library and information science at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Her first collection of poetry, The Crystal Palace (Mansfield Press) is out this fall.
