Purdyfest #5

PurdyFests are held on the Civic Holiday weekend in the village of Marmora.

On Saturday they'll host a symposium on the life and works of poet Raymond Souster, beginning at noon in the Marmora Library building. Terry Barker will emcee the event and present a paper, and poet Anna Yin will give a multi-media presentation. Other poets may make presentations.

Around 4 pm all will gather on the islet in the Marmora Dam for "Another Dam Poetry Reading". Ottawa poet Jim Larwill will launch his powerful new CD, "Birdman Stoneman Incantation". Popular singer/guitarist Morley Ellis will also entertain. Around 4:30 there will a round robin reading, with everyone performing their favourite poems.

On Sunday afternoon, Tai Grove, the publisher of Hidden Brook Press, and the President of the Canada-Cuba Literary Alliance, will host a reading by CCLA members at ZenRiver Gardens.
