Details

Join us for an informal evening of storytelling, poetry reading, and humour by professional and amateur writers, poets, and storytellers. Share your own work, read the work of your favorite writer, or just sit back and enjoy this open mic event scheduled for the last Friday of every month except December, July and August.

This month's optional theme:
The Elements: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Ice

During the evening, readers will also celebrate the life and work of local award-winning author/poet Peggy Fletcher who passed away earlier this month.

For close to 50 years, Fletcher played a vital role in Sarnia's literary scene. Not only was she one of the most prolific writers of Lambton County but she was a co-founder of Writers in Transition (WIT), a co-creator/former host of Spoken Word, and a teacher/mentor to so many new writers.

Hosted by two Lambton County writers: Debbie Okun Hill (president, The Ontario Poetry Society) and Ryan Gibbs (English professor, Lambton College).

No pre-registration required. Sign up for readers is at the door.
Everyone welcome. Admission is FREE.
