TD Canadian Children’s Book Week will run from Saturday, April 30 to Saturday, May 7, 2011. Twenty-seven English-speaking authors and illustrators will be touring in every province and territory. In addition, through the CCBC’s partnership with the Storytellers of Canada/Conteurs du Canada, three storytellers will tour alongside the authors and illustrators. The Canadian Children's Book Centre is also organizing a Francophone tour in Quebec, where five authors and illustrators will be touring as part of our bilingual Book Week celebrations. For information on where touring authors/illustrators and storytellers are giving presentations, please visit www.bookweek.ca.
The theme for Book Week 2011 is Changing the World, One Child at a Time / Changer le monde, un enfant à la fois and celebrates global citizenship. The CCBC will focus on books that highlight children and teens who are doing things to make the world a better place in their community, country, or abroad. The theme will also encompass environmental issues, world conflict and world events.
