Thrive Reading Series presents a reading by Elizabeth Bachinsky with Jeanette Lynes and Matt Reesor. Event runs from 8-10pm.

ABOUT:

Matt Reesor currently lives in Kingston, Ontario. For many years much of his writing focused on second language issues and language policy. More recently he writes poetry and short fiction, occasionally as part of mixed media collaborations with his sister, Sarah Reesor, a visual artist based near Orillia, Ontario. When not writing, Matt prefers to spend time with his wife and two sons.

Jeanette Lynes is the author of five collections of poetry, most recently ,em>The New Blue Distance (2009) and Its Hard Being Queen:The Dusty Springfield Poems (2008). Her poetry has most recently appeared in The New Quarterly, where it received the 2010 Nick Blatchford Occasional Verse Prize. Jeanette's first novel, ,em>The Factory Voice (2009) was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and a Relit Award. The Factory Voice was also a Globe and Mail Top 100 Book for 2009 and has been podcast by CBC Radio's Between the Covers. Jeanette co-edits The Antigonish Review and spends as much time in Kingston as possible

Elizabeth Bachinsky is the author of three collections of poetry, Curio (BookThug, 2005), Home of Sudden Service (Nightwood, 2006), and God of Missed Connections (Nightwood, 2009). Her work was nominated for the Governor General's Award for Poetry in 2006, the Kobzar Literary Award in 2009, the Pat Lowther Award in 2010, and the Bronwen Wallace Award in 2004. Her poems have appeared in literary journals, anthologies, and on film in Canada, the United States, France, Ireland, England, and China. She is an instructor of creative writing at Douglas College in New Westminster where she is Poetry Editor for Event magazine.
