Tim Inkster Delivers James Reaney Memorial Lecture

The Fifth Annual James Reaney Memorial Lecture will be delivered on October 19, 2014 at the Stratford Public Library by PQL publisher Tim Inkster, who will present an anecdotal bibliography of Reaney's career in print.

Starting with Reaney's student publications in the late 1940s, with particular reference to The Red Heart (1949), and ending with the recent Porcupine's Quill edition (2010) of Reaney's classic long poem A Suit of Nettles, this idiosyncratic survey will also track the transition from 19th-century letterpress technology in Canada to 20th-century offset book production, and will detail the attendant loss of quality typography which has only recently been recovered.
