We are looking forward to welcoming April and the start of National Poetry Month! Join us for readings by Alexandra Oliver and Alice Major as we celebrate spring and this month dedicated to poetry.
Alexandra Oliver was born in Vancouver. She holds an M.A. in Drama/Cinema Studies from The University of Toronto and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from The University of Southern Maine. Her most recent poetry collection, Meeting the Tormentors in SafewayThe National Post. A co-editor of the Canadian formalist review The Rotary Dial, Oliver is also co-editing (with Annie Finch) Measure for Measure, an anthology of metrical poetry.
Alice Major has published nine collections of award-winning poetry and a collection of essays, Intersecting Sets: A Poet Looks at Science. Her numerous awards include the Pat Lowther award (three of her poetry collections have been shortlisted for the Lowther) and a National Magazine Award gold medal. Her latest accolade is the Golden Pen award, given by the Writers Guild of Alberta to an outstanding Alberta author.
