Presenting Two Days of Canada Conference at Brock University: "Avant Canada: Artists, Prophets, and Revolutionaries", 5-7 November 2014. The two day conference will take place at Rodman Hall in downtown St. Catharines, and will be followed by a one-day symposium on bpNichol at the Niagara Artists Centre, also in the downtown. We have extended the conference to three days to help celebrate Brock University's 50th anniversary.

The conference is being hosted by Editing Modernism in Canada (editingmodernism.ca), the Centre for Canadian Studies at Brock University, and the Niagara Artists Centre (nac.org).

The conference will include plenary speakers, roundtable discussions, special topics panels, practical-skills workshops, an exhibition of First Nations digital art by Skawennati, a keynote address by Stó:lō author and philosopher Lee Maracle that is free and open to the public, a one-day symposium on bpNichol, and a creative evening of poetry readings by Christian Bök, a rawlings, Stephen Scobie, derek beaulieu, Adeena Karasick, Stephen Cain, Gary Barwin, and Natalie Simpson.
