Writescape's winter line-up brings local wordsmiths four great ways to put money in their pockets. These hands-on workshops at Trent University Oshawa Campus take a "show, don't tell" approach that builds skills and confidence in novice and experienced writers.

From Query to Byline: Get Published and Paid is a five-evening introduction to the basics of writing non-fiction for magazines, newspapers and the web. Freelance writers Heather M. O'Connor and Gwynn Scheltema guide writers from story idea to query, from pitch to polished story. A Metroland editor reviews participants' queries on the last night. Monday evenings, January 21 to February 25, 6:00 - 8:30 pm. (No class on Family Day.)
