In addition to Canadian prize announcements, today also marks the release of the 2011 Man Booker Prize shortlist. The international prize is one of the most coveted for English language writing.
Two of the six entries (The Sisters Brothers and Half Blood Blues) are Canadian-authored. Toronto-based House of Anansi Press also published Pigeon English as part of the Anansi International imprint.
The 2011 shortlisted authors are:

Patrick deWitt The Sisters Brothers (Granta)
Esi Edugyan Half Blood Blues (Serpent’s Tail)

A.D. Miller Snowdrops (Atlantic)
