Trillium Book Award nominee Kristen den Hartog (And Me Among Them, Freehand Books) has invited the other Trillium 2012 nominees to create guest posts about children's literature for her terrific blog, Blog of Green Gables. She writes, "Lately I’ve been wondering how my fellow nominees would muse about children’s literature. What books stayed with them from their childhoods, and why?"
The first must-read contribution is from Phil Hall (Killdeer, BookThug), whose grade six teacher's reading of Thunderhead by Mary O'Hara gave him and his fellow students a "crucial, unmagical gift."
