The University of Calgary's Calgary Distinguished Writers Program is calling for applications for its Writer-in-Residence 2014-5 10-month, full-time position. Applications are due no later than January 31, 2013, and the position runs from August 15, 2014 to June 15, 2015.

The position is aimed at early or mid-career Canadian writers in any genre(s) with 1-4 published or performed works to their credit. Half of one's time is spent with one's own writing projects; the other half is spent doing public outreach, from manuscript consultations to public presentations, as well as a variety of other duties.

It offers a generous compensation package, administrative support, and an on-campus office.

Your application should consist of a literary resume, list of 1-4 previously published or performed works, a statement of interest, a one-page description of the project(s) you propose to undertake during your residency, and three letters of reference (that are ideally not from your agent or publisher).

For more information, check out the official website or contact Caitlynn Cummings at cdwp[at]ucalgary[dot]ca, or you can reach her by phone at 403-220-8177.
