The North Shore Series of Hidden Brook Press is currently seeking submissions for cover artwork from artists/photographers for its upcoming anthology, That Not Forgotten.
Book Description: The book is to be a collection of poetry and short prose from writers with ties to an area along the north shore of Lake Ontario, from Kingston to Port Hope, north to #7 Highway. We’d like the artwork to come from artists in the same area. The call for written work closed on October 31, 2011. The mission of that anthology sent was “to paint, with an eclectic brush, reflections of, reaction to, hope within — pieces of ourselves found, pieces of ourselves lost here in this place” — and it both wanted to be and became a collage of voice and style from poets and prose writers, who shared this place, this soil.
With submissions from just over 100 poets/authors, the anthology itself is now in the review/editing process. The anthology, when published, will be a poetry anthology containing a spattering of short prose. It was the intent to allow as much interpretive diversity as possible and without theme. The pieces within this anthology run that gamut fully, covering the full range of emotion — and in both time and place that ranges from the microscopic to the almost surreal. For this call, as well, there is no theme. We are leaning toward something colourful however, after reading the description of the anthology above, feel free to submit anything that you feel might fit.
To conserve server/email space we are asking that all submissions be sent in a lower resolution. As we select and narrow the field we will request a higher resolution for the final selection.
Low Resolution Images Only: Please send up to 3 low res images (72 dpi.) per email submission. Multiple submissions are accepted, even encouraged. (maximum 6 inches on one side)
Subject Heading: Please include “cover artwork” in the subject box of the email as well as in the body of the email.

Expected book launch: late summer/early fall of 2012.
Permission to Publish: Submission of work for the anthology gives the publisher permission to publish. All rights to the published work revert to the artist. All rights for the book, layout and design remain with Hidden Brook Press.
Compensation: Contributors, whose work is included, will receive one free copy.
