Are you an emerging writer, not yet published in book form? Then you won't want to miss the chance to submit to The Humber Literary Review's new short fiction contest!
The first place winner of the contest will receive full tuition (value $850) to a workshop with the prestigious Humber School for Writers, as well as a $250 cash prize. The first and second runners-up will receive cash prizes of $250 and $100 respectively. All winning entries will be published in the Spring 2016 print edition of the magazine.
The short fiction contest invites writers to submit stories up to 3000 words by the deadline of November 1, 2015. Each entry must be accompanied by a $25 entry fee, and every entrant will also receive a one-year subscription.
Previous contributors to the HLR include Karen Solie, Russell Smith and Jeff Latosik, amongst many others.
The contest will be judged by Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer, the author of the novels All The Broken Things (nominated for the 2015 Toronto Book Award), Perfecting and The Nettle Spinner, as well as the short story collection Way Up.
