CBC's Canada Writes is an online meeting place for writers that offers lots of resources to help get the creative juices flowing. Canada Writes is also home to the prestigious CBC Literary Prizes, held throughout the year in partnership with Canada Council for the Arts and enRoute Magazine. There are three prize categories: Short Story, Poetry and Creative nonfiction. The short story contest opened on September 1 and submissions will be accepted until November 1.

The Canada Writes website features articles and interviews with authors, as well as examples of original fiction and essays written by beloved Canadian writers. There are online workshops and writing challenges (complete with prizes) and helpful writing tips for aspiring authors.
