Finalists Announced for CBC's Canada Writes Creative Nonfiction Prize

CBC’s Canada Writes has announced the five English-language and five French-language finalists for the CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize/ Prix du récit Radio-Canada. The finalists' stories were selected from over 3000 entries.

English-language finalists:

  • Leslie Beckmann of North Vancouver, BC for “Fingerling”
  • Hilary Dean of Toronto, ON for “Holy Bald-Headed”
  • Cornelia Hoogland of Hornby Island, BC for “Sea Level”
  • Judy McFarlane of Vancouver, BC for “After, and Before”
  • Brendan McLeod of Vancouver, BC for “Psychosomatic”

The winners will be announced on July 23rd.
