From our friends at Authors at Harbourfront Centre:

Visiting 16 locations and launching a dedicated website to keep you connected

The 32nd annual International Festival of Authors (IFOA) continues to grow leaps and bounds by expanding its IFOA Ontario touring program across the province and on the web. New festival locations include Brantford, Markham, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Uxbridge and Woodstock, in addition to those once again occurring in Barrie, Burlington, Hamilton, Midland, Orillia, Owen Sound, Parry Sound, Picton, Port Hope and Windsor — for a total of 16 cities. IFOA Ontario is also pleased to announce the launch of its website, litontour.com, to keep you better connected to upcoming schedules, events, contests and participant information.

Now in its fifth year, IFOA Ontario partners with libraries, bookstores, universities and community organizations across Ontario to help provide areas with access to IFOA’s world-renowned events and the Festival’s roster of best contemporary writers from around the globe. IFOA Ontario takes place from October 16 to November 8. Visit litontour.com to find out more information on the authors presenting in each location.

Geoffrey Taylor, Director of IFOA, says: “This year IFOA Ontario is excited to partner with 16 locations across Ontario, bringing local communities the best authors from around the world. The launch of our dedicated website, litontour.com, also provides us with the opportunity to connect with more community members from around the province.”

Participating authors include: Man Booker Prize-winner Anne Enright, National Book Critics Circle Award-winner Bharati Mukherjee and Commonwealth Prize-winner Rana Dasgupta. Programming also includes authors Helen Humphreys, Dany Laferrière, Tom Perrotta, Timothy Taylor, Madeleine Thien, Jane Urquhart and Daniel Woodrell. IFOA Ontario is also excited to announce its new partnership with the Writers’ Trust of Canada and the Metcalf Foundation to present readings by the 2011 Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize shortlist. The partnership also presents the 2010 winner of the Vicky Metcalf Award for Children’s Literature, Polly Horvath, as part of IFOA Ontario’s growing Young Readers Program.
