PurdyFest

Open Book: Ontario is pleased to announce Purdy Country LitFest as its newest addition to the Literary Landmark map.

Every summer, on a long August weekend, urban poets travel to the plush landscape the late poet Al Purdy wrote warmly about in his piece, “The Country North of Belleville.”

The festival continues the legacy of Purdy’s notorious cottage-style poet gatherings. To learn more about PurdyFests and to contribute to the scrapbook, visit the PurdyFests Landmark.
